21 g of N-(4,6-dihydroxy-2-methylsulfanyl-pyrimidin-5-yl)-3-methyl-benzamide in 100 ml of phosphorus oxychloride were heated to 70° C. for 3 h. After cooling, the mixture was poured into 500 ml of diethyl ether. The precipitate was filtered off and washed with diethyl ether. 7.6 g of the title compound were obtained.
