Procedure
Ethyl 1,4-dihydro-2-hydroxy-1-methyl-4-oxo-7-(4-pyridinyl)-3-quinolinecarboxylate was prepared from 7.20 g dioxobenzoxazine of Example 38, part (a), 1.66 g 60% sodium hydride and 1.95 ml methyl iodide according to the procedure of Example 38, part (b), and was obtained (4.50 g) as a yellow solid, m.p. about 184° C(decompn.).
Workup
- customwas obtained (4.50 g) as a yellow solid, m.p. about 184° C(decompn.)
