3.24 g of the title compound of Example 8 were stirred in a mixture of 20 ml thioanisole and 30 ml TFA at room temperature for 16 hours. The solvents were distilled off in vacuo and the residue stirred with 50 ml ice water at pH 5.5 (NaHCO3 were added). Solid title compound, beige crystals, were isolated by filtration after washing with water and drying over P2O5 ; yield: 2.2 g title compound. Title compound was also obtained by hydrogenation of the title compound of Example 8 in DMF, Pd/C (10%) as catalyst.
