Procedure

This compound was prepared in a manner analogous to that of Step H of Example 1, using 3.2 grams (0.007 mole) of 3-(3-chloro-6-fluoro-3,4-dihydro-3-trifluoromethylquinolin-2-on-7-yl)-1-methyl -6-trifluoromethyluracil and 3.2 grams (0.031 mole) of triethylamine in 100 mL of tetrahydrofuran. The product was recrystallized from ethanol, yielding 1.4 grams of 3-(6-fluoro-3-trifluoromethylquinolin-2-on-7-yl)-1-methyl-6-trifluoromethyluracil. The NMR spectrum was consistent with the proposed structure.
