Tert-butyl 1-oxo-4-phenyl-2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)-2,7-diazaspiro[4.5]decane-7-carboxylate (0.874 g, 2.119 mmol) in DCM (10 ml) was treated with 4M HCl in 1,4-dioxane (4.5 ml, 0.018 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 9 hours. The solvent was removed in vacuo to give the title compound.
