Piperidine-4-carboxylic acid benzyl ester, hydrochloride salt (1 g, 3.9 mmol, 1 e.) from step 3, was dissolved in DMF (15 ml), Triethylamine (0.55 ml, 4 mmol, 1 eq.) and methanesulfonylchloride were added. The mixture was stirred for 1 h at room temperature, then was poured in water (20 ml). The aqueous solution was extracted with Ethyl Acetate (90 ml) and the organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, evaporated under reduced pressure to give a colourless oil. Yield 78%, 0.9 g.
