N-{3-[2-(Acetylamino)ethyl]-4-hydroxy-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-5-yl}-5-pyridin-2-ylpentanamide (37.7 mg, 0.0953 mmol) and pyridinium p-toluenesulfonate (4.8 mg, 0.0191 mmol) were heated under reflux in xylene (1 mL) for 1.5 hr. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, washed with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate solution and saturated brine and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (NH, ethyl acetate/hexane=30/70→80/20) to give the title compound (20.9 mg, yield 58%).
