Procedure

Methyl 4-fluoro-2-phenoxybenzoate (2 g) and 1,4-dioxa-8-azaspiro[4.5]decane (1.279 g) were combined in dimethylsulfoxideO (12 mL) in a 250 mL round-bottom flask. Sodium carbonate (1.291 g) was added. The reaction flask was sealed and heated to 130° C. overnight. The reaction mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate, washed thoroughly with water and with brine, and dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated to obtain the desired product.
