To a solution of ethyl 3-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-1-(3-hydroxybutan-2-yl)-1H-thieno[2,3-c]pyrazole-5-carboxylate (134 mg, 0.352 mmol) in methanol (3.5 mL) was added sodium hydroxide (1 M, 1.06 mL, 1.06 mmol). The mixture was stirred at 50° C. for 18 hr. Hydrochloric acid (6M, 0.176 mL, 1.06 mmol) was added. The mixture was concentrated to give the title compound with three equivalents of sodium chloride (181 mg): LC-MS [M+1]=353.3.
