To a solution of ethyl 3-(2-(((2′-fluoro-5′-methoxy-2-neopentyl-[1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)oxy)methyl)pyridin-4-yl)propanoate (72 mg) in THF (1.5 mL) and methanol (0.75 mL) was added 1N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (1.5 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 20 min. The reaction mixture was neutralized with 1N hydrochloric acid (1.5 mL), and extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with water and saturated brine, and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (50 mg) as a white solid.
