Procedure

5-(4-Aminophenyl)-1H-naphtho[1,2-b][1,4]diazepine-2,4(3H,5H)-dione (63 mg, 0.2 mmol), 3-hydroxypyridine-2-carboxylic acid (33 mg, 0.24 mmol), dry dimethylacetamide (6 mL), triethylamine (0.07 mL, 0.5 mmol), and O-(7-azabenzotriazol-1-yl)-N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate (95 mg, 0.25 mmol) were mixed, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 hours. This reaction mixture was added with water, the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate, and the organic layer was washed with saturated brine, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (methanol/chloroform=1/100), and then washed several times with ethyl acetate to give the title compound (37 mg, yield 42%) as white crystals.
