Procedure

To a solution of compound prepared in Example 103 (8.40 g, 0.33 mol) in THF (160 mL) was added Phenyl Trimethylammonium Tribromide (12.40 g, 0.33 mol) and the reaction mixture stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc (100 mL) and washed with H2O (50 mL) and brine (50 mL), dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by combiflash chromatography (silica gel, 40 g, 2-3% ethyl acetate/hexanes) to afford the title compound (7.99 g, 55%) as a white solid.
