To a solution of tert-butyl 2-(2-(6-(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-4-oxo-2-thioxo-3,4-dihydropyrimidin-1(2H)-yl)ethylamino)-2-oxoethylcarbamate (70 mg, 0.15 mmol) in ethyl acetate (2 mL) was added a solution of HCl in ethyl acetate (2 mL). After stirring at room temperature for 4 hours, the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the desired 2-amino-N-(2-(6-(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-4-oxo-2-thioxo-3,4-dihydropyrimidin-1(2H)-yl)ethyl)acetamide hydrochloride as a solid (65 mg, 100%).
