Procedure
p-Xylylene dichloride was reacted with thiophenol in a mol ratio of 1:1 in the presence of excess potassium carbonate in dimethylsulfoxide. The obtained 4-(phenyl-mercapto-methyl)-benzyl chloride (identification: thin-layer chromatogram) was further reacted with 6-hydroxy-3, 4-dihydro-carbostyril analogous to Example 140 without isolation.
