To a solution of methyl 3-{[2-(4,5-diphenyloxazol-2-yl)-2-cyclohexen-1-yl]methyl}-2-methylbenzoate (119 mg) in EtOAc (8 m1) and MeOH (10 ml) was added 10% Pd/C (wet) (60 mg) and the mixture was stirred under hydrogen atmosphere at 3 atm at room temperature for 18 hours. The catalyst was removed by filtration and the filtrate was evaporated to give methyl 3-{[2-(4,5-diphenyloxazol-2-yl)-1-cyclohexyl]methyl}-2-methyl-benzoate (115.3 mg) as an amorphous solid.
