Procedure

Guanidine hydrochloride (42 mg, 0.44 mmol) was added in one portion to a suspension of NaH (13 mg, 80% dispersion by wt in mineral oil, 0.43 mmol) in DMSO (1.5 mL) and the mixture was heated at 60° C. under N2 for 30 min. 1-Chloro-7-isoquinolinesulphonamide (37 mg, 0.152 mmol) was added and the mixture heated at 100° C. for 24 h. The solvents were evaporated in vacuo and the residue was purified by column chromatography upon silica gel using CH2Cl2—MeOH-0.880NH3 (97:3:0.3 to 90:10:1) as eluant to give the title compound (34 mg, 0.13 mmol) as an off-white solid.
