1.98 g (0.01 mol) of the product of step (a) was mixed with 2.2 g (0.011 mol) of 5-trifluoromethyl-4- chloro-3-hydroxy-1-methylpyrazole and 1.65 g of potassium carbonate in 15 ml of DMSO and heated for 24 hours at 90° C. The mixture was poured into 400 ml of H2O and extracted with ether. The organic layer was separated, washed with H2O, brine, dried over MgSO4 and solvent removed to give 3.7 g of solid, m.p. 72°-76° C.
