Similar to the preparation of 12a, the title compound is prepared from the reaction of 4′-amino-5,6,7-trimethoxyflavone, 10a, (654 mg, 2 mmol), ethyl bromoacetate (367 mg, 2.2 mmol), and anhydrous potassium carbonate (0.5 g) in methanol (40 ml).
