Procedure

To a stirred solution of [4-(7-Methoxy-6-methyl-indan-4-ylmethyl)-3,5-dimethyl-pyrazol-yl]-acetonitrile (2.0 gm 0.00647 mole) in methanol (50 ml), A suspension of Hydroxylamine hydrochloride (2.29 gm, 0.033 mole) and Potassium carbonate (4.37 gm, 0.0317 mole) in water (20 ml) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred for 30-36 hours at 70° C., cooled and then was filtered. The obtained solid was washed with water (10 ml) and finally with Hexane and dried under vacuum to give 1.8 gm of desired product
