Procedure
To convert the product to the corresponding dihydrochloride, the title base was dissolved in isopropanol. Isopropanolic hydrochloric acid and then ether were added to the solution. The resulting precipitate was filtered out. 250 mg of 2-[4-(4-hydroxybutoxy)phenyl]-1-{2-[4-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl)piperazin-1-yl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl}-5,6-dihydro-4H-pyrrolo[3,2,1-ij]quinoline 2 HCl 2 H2O having a melting point of 150° C. were obtained.
