Procedure

7.5 g of 2-DL-leucylamino-1,3,4-thiadiazole hydrochloride and 3.1 g of triethylamine were suspended in 100 ml of tetrahydrofuran, and 3.2 g of 2-chloroethyl isocyanate was added thereto and stirred for 2 hours. The reaction solution was concentrated, and the resulting crystals were washed with water and n-hexane to obtain 7.9 g (Yield 83%) of 2-[N-{(2-chloroethyl)carbamoyl}-DL-leucyl]amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole was obtained as slightly yellow crystals having a melting point of from 162° to 166° C. (dec.).
