4.8 g (0.019 mole) of 5,6-dihydro-5-oxopyrazolo[1,5-c]-quinazoline-2-carboxylic acid, sodium salt is added to a solution of 3.27 g (0.026 mole) of oxalyl chloride in 200 ml of benzene. The suspension is stirred at room temperature for 20 minutes and then refluxed under nitrogen for 2 hours. The solvent is stripped to give the product.
