To a solution of methyl 7-fluoro-6-(2-fluoro-4-iodophenylamino)-3-methylbenzo[c]isoxazole-5-carboxylate (214 mg, 0.48 mmol) in a mixture of THF (10 ml) and H2O (5 ml) was added a solution of LiOH (57.5 mg, 2.40 mmol) in H2O (2.4 ml). After stirring at room temperature for 4 h, the reaction was concentrated, acidified with 1 M HCl solution, and extracted with EtOAc (2×20 ml). The organic solution was dried over MgSO4 and concentrated to give 184 mg (100%) of 7-fluoro-6-(2-fluoro-4-iodophenylamino)-3-methylbenzo[c]isoxazole-5-carboxylic acid as an orange solid.
