Procedure
2.08 g. of ethyl 4-oxo-4,6,7,8-tetrahydro-pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrimidine-3-carboxylate is added to 10 ml. of 98% by weight of hydrazine hydrate and the mixture is allowed to stand for 1 hour at room temperature and the obtained crystals are filtered and washed with water. 1.5 g. (77.5%) of 4-oxo-4,6,7,8-tetrahydro-pyrrolo(1,2-a)pyrimidine-3-carbohydrazide is obtained, melting at 180°-181° C.
