Procedure

A solution of 1,3-diphenyl-2-[(dimethylamino)methylene]-1,3-propanedione (317 mg, 1.13 mmol) in 5.5 mL of MeOH was treated with solid 4-iodoaniline (245 mg, 1.12 mmol). The resulting solution was stirred at rt overnight. The resulting precipitate was isolated by filtration and washed with MeOH. The title compound was isolated as a light yellow solid.
