3-(Cyclopentyloxy)-5-[(phenylmethyl)oxy]benzoic acid (3.14 g, 10.0 mmol), 1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-amine (1.95 g, 20 mmol) and HATU (4.95 g, 13 mmol) were dissolved in DMF (12.5 mL) then DIPEA (3.49 mL, 20 mmol) was added. The resultant mixture was stirred at RT for 20 hours. The mixture was quenched with water (150 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (2×75 mL), washed with brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated in vacuo to leave a yellow oil. The residue was chromatographed on silica, eluting with 0-30% ethyl acetate in isohexane, to give the desired product as a clear gum (1.87 g).
