To a solution of 500 mg (S)-2-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-4-(2H-tetrazol-5-yl)-butyric acid in 20 ml DMF were added 701 mg HATU, 457 μl DIPEA and 343 mg 1-butoxycarbonyl-piperazine. After 3 h the solution was concentrated, the residue obtained diluted with DCM and subsequently washed with aqueous LiCl (4%) and 0.1 M HCl. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and concentrated. Yield: 730 mg.
