In a flame dried round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar and under inert atmosphere (N2), a solution of [2-(5-oxo-hexyl)-oxazol-4-yl]-(5-phenyl-oxazole-4-carbonyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (31 mg, 0.06 mmol) in dry CH2Cl2 (1.0 mL) was treated at 0° C. with trifluoroacetic acid (0.05 mL, 0.64 mmol). After stirring at rt for 16 h, the reaction mixture was quenched with sat. aq. NaHCO3, extracted with CH2Cl2 (3×10 mL) and the combined org. extracts were dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and the solvents were removed under reduced pressure. Purification of the residue by HPLC gave the title compound as a light brown solid. TLC: rf (1:1 hept-EA)=0.35. LC-MS-conditions 02: tR=1.02 min, [M+H]+=354.25.
