In a flame dried round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar and under inert atmosphere (N2), a solution of [2-(5,5-difluoro-hexyl)-oxazol-4-yl]-(2-methyl-5-m-tolyl-oxazole-4-carbonyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (32 mg, 0.06 mmol) in dry CH2Cl2 (1.0 mL) was treated at 0° C. with trifluoroacetic acid (0.05 mL, 0.65 mmol). After stirring at rt for 16 h, the reaction mixture was quenched with sat. aq. NaHCO3, extracted with CH2Cl2 (3×10 mL) and the combined org. extracts were dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and the solvents were removed under reduced pressure. Purification of the residue by HPLC gave the title compound as a light brown solid. TLC: rf (4:1 hept-EA)=0.21. LC-MS-conditions 02: tR=1.17 min, [M+H]+=404.43.
