In a flame dried round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar and under inert atmosphere (N2), a solution of [5-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-oxazole-4-carbonyl]-[2-(5-oxo-hexyl)-oxazol-4-yl]-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (41 mg, 0.09 mmol) in dry CH2Cl2 (1.0 mL) was treated at 0° C. with trifluoroacetic acid (0.07 mL, 0.90 mmol). After stirring at rt for 4 h, the reaction mixture was quenched with sat. aq. NaHCO3, extracted with CH2Cl2 (3×10 mL) and the combined org. extracts were dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and the solvents were removed under reduced pressure. Purification of the residue by HPLC gave the title compound as a white solid. LC-MS-conditions 01: tR=1.00 min, [M+H]+=372.04.
