Procedure
A solution of 1.85 mmol of N-tert-Butyl-4-(8-hydroxy-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-8-yl)-benzamide in 6 ml of 2M HCl is stirred at 50° C. for 20 hours. The reaction mixture is cooled to room temperature and cautiously adjusted to pH 8 with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution. The aqueous phase is extracted with dichloromethane (3×)—the combined organic phases are dried with sodium sulphate and evaporated. The crude title compound is obtained as a grey solid. Rt=5.54.
