3,5-Diaminobenzonitrile (500 mg, 3.76 mmol) and 4,7-dichloroquinoline (744 mg, 1 eq) were stirred at room temperature in 50 mL of ethanol for 18 h. The precipitate was removed by filtration to yield expected compound as a yellow powder (925 mg, 74% yield).
