To a solution of tert-butyl (3S)-4-[2-hydroxy-5-(trifluoromethyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-yl]-3-methylpiperazine-1-carboxylate (isomer 1 from step C in Example 9) (50 mg, 0.1 mmol) in THF (2 mL) at 0° C. was added NaH (8 mg, 60% in oil, 0.2 mmol). After being stirred for 10 min, MeI (28 mg, 0.2 mmol) was added. The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 1 h and quenched with aqueous NH4Cl. The resulting solution was extracted with EtOAc twice. The extracts were washed with brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated to give the crude product. LC/MS calculated for C21H29F3N2O3: (M+H)+ 415. found 415.2.
