A solution of 4-(5-Methyl-6,7-dihydro-5H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.30 g, 0.68 mmol) in TFA (20 mL) was heated to 65° C. overnight. After cooling, the excess TFA was evaporated under vacuum to give 5-Methyl-4-piperazin-1-yl-6,7-dihydro-5H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine as TFA salt (0.15 g, 99%). MS (APCI+) [M+H]+220.
