Procedure

2-Acetyl-7-chlorosulphonyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline was reacted with 3-trifluoromethylaniline in dichloromethane according to the method generally described in EP No. 0038177-A. The resulting product was deacetylated by heating with aqueous hydrochloric acid in butanol to give 7-(3-trifluoromethylphenylsulphamoyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline as the hydrochloride salt.
