Dicyclohexyl carbodiimide (226 mg) was added to a solution of 273 mg of Nα -t-butoxycarbonyl-β-(4-thiazolyl)-L-alanine and 132 mg of glycine t-butylester in 5 ml of ethyl acetate at 0° C. The reaction solution was stirred at 0° C. for 0.5 hour, then at ambient temperature for 18 hours. 4 drops of glacial acetic acid was then added to the reaction mixture and the mixture filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under vacuum to provide 426 mg of the title compound as an oil.
