Procedure
10.3 Parts of 4-(5-methoxycarbonyl-2-methyl-pent-2-yl)-phenol, 4.2 parts of citronellyl n-butyl ether, and 0.5 parts of 70% perchloric acid in 25 parts of methylene chloride were stored at room temperature for 4 days. The work-up followed Example 61 and gave on distillation 2-(8-n-butyloxy-2,6-dimethyl-oct-2-yl)-4-(5-methoxycarbonyl-2-methyl-pent-2-yl)-phenol with b0.8, 228°-36° C.
