5-(5,6-Dimethoxy-3-methyl-1,4-benzoquinon-2-yl)methyl-2-(3-methoxyphenyl)benzoic acid (100 mg, 0.2369 mmol) and morpholine (41 mg, 0.4712 mmol) were dissolved in methylene chloride (20 ml), then 4-dimethylaminopyridine (6 mg, 0.0491 mmol) and WSC-HCl (136 mg, 0.7094 mmol) were added thereto and the mixture was stirred for 6 hours at room temperature. The reaction solution was washed with water and dried and the solvent was evaporated therefrom. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane:ethyl acetate=1:3) to give the title compound (80 mg, 0.1629 mmol, 69%).
