To a stirred solution of 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole (2.70 g, 23.71 mmol) and triethylamine (11.0 mL, 8.0 g, 79.0 mmol) in THF (40 mL) and CH2Cl2 (20 mL) was added dropwise chloro(methoxy)pyrrolidinophosphine (3.31 g, 19.76 mmol) at room temperature. The mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature. The reaction mixture was filtered to remove the resulting salt, and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give the crude product as a pale yellow oil (3.97 g, 82%). 31P NMR (CDCl3) δ 132.9.
