Procedure

To 0.48 g of 1-(2-aminosulfonylphenyl)-5-methyl 1H-tetrazole in 25 mL of acetonitrile was added at ambient temperature and pressure 0.54 g of phenyl N-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)carbamate and 0.3 mL of DBU. The reaction mixture was stirred for three hours, added to 25 g of ice and acidified to pH 3 with hydrochloric acid. The precipitate thus obtained was filtered, washed with water and dried to yield 0.74 g of the desired product, melting point at 213°-216° C. Infrared absorption spectra showed peaks at 1710, 1605 and 1570 cm-1, consistent for the desired product.
