To a solution of {5-[(5-chloro-1-triisopropylsilanyl-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl)-hydroxy-methyl]-thiazol-2-yl}-(4-fluoro-benzyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (627, 120 mg, 0.186 mmol) in acetonitrile (3 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (0.14 mL, 1.86 mmol) and triethylsilane (0.30 mL, 1.86 mmol). The resulting mixture was stirred for 2 hours at 40° C. The solvent was then removed in vacuo and the residue was used directly in the next step.
