Procedure

To a solution of 2-({6-[({[(1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)(phenyl)methylene]amino}oxy)methyl]pyridin-2-yl}methyl)-1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione (3 g, 6.61 mmol, 1 eq.) in 25 ml of THF was added hydrazine hydrate (1.32 g, 26.46 mmol, 4 eq.). The reaction was stirred overnight at room temperature. The solvent was evaporated and the residue dissolved in EtOAc. Water was added and the layers separated. The aqueous layer was extracted with EtOAc and the organics were combined, dried over MgSO4 and concentrated to give 1-{6-[({[(1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)(phenyl)methylene]amino}oxy)methyl]pyridin-2-yl}methanamine (2.29 g, 93%) as a clear viscous oil.
