The title compound was prepared from methyl 3-(3-methoxymethyl-isoxazol-5-yl)-benzoate [prepared by reaction of ethyl 3-ethynylbenzoate [CAS-No. 178742-95-5] with a mixture of NCS, 2-methoxyacetaldoxime [CAS-No. 71494-93-4], Et3N and cat. amount of pyridine in CHCl3 at 50° C. according to Tetrahedron 1984, 40, 2985-2988] by treatment with lithium tert.-butyl acetate according to general procedure K (method b). Obtained as a light yellow liquid (1.548 g).
