In THF (10 ml) was dissolved N-[4-(chloromethyl)phenyl]-7-(4-methylphenyl)-3,4-dihydro-naphthalene-2-carboxamide (300 mg), and to the mixture was added thiomorpholine (233 μl). The mixture was refluxed for 20 hours. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, and to the mixture was added 5% sodium hydrogen carbonate solution (50 ml). The mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with saturated sodium chloride solution, dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was recrystallized from ethyl acetate-hexane to give 7-(4-methylphenyl)-N-[4-(thiomorpholinomethyl)phenyl]-3,4-dihydro-naphthalene-2-carboxamide (Compound 50) (309 mg) as colorless crystals.
