A solution of [[2-ethyl-1-(phenylmethyl)-3-ureido-1H-indol-4-yl]oxy]acetic acid tert-butyl ester (0.2 g) and trifluoroacetic acid (0.3 mL) in 5 mL of methylene chloride was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. After concentrating to dryness, the resulting solid was slurried in ether, filtered and air dried to give 0.08 g of titled compound. Mass spectrum: 368.
