150 parts by volume of benzene, 34 parts of 5-methoxy-2,4,6-trichloro-pyrimidine and 17.7 parts of N-methyl-morpholine are introduced into a reactor. The mixture is heated under reflux for 3 hours, then filtered and the solution is evaporated. The residue obtained is recrystallised from ethanol. 30 parts of 2-morpholino-5-methoxy-4,6-dichloro-pyrimidine of melting point 116°C are thus obtained.
