Procedure
0.3 ml of a 1N tetrabutylammonium fluoride solution in tetrahydrofuran was added to a solution of 44 mg of N-[1-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)piperidin-4-yl]-2-cyclopentyl-2-hydroxy-2-{[2-(trimethylsilyl)ethoxymethyl]imidazol-2-yl}acetamide in 2 ml of tetrahydrofuran at 60° C., and this mixture was stirred at the same temperature for 5 hours. The reaction mixture was mixed with a saturated aqueous solution of sodium bicarbonate and extracted with diethyl ether. The organic layer was washed with water and a saturated aqueous solution sodium chloride and then dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. After the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure, the resulting residue was purified by preparative thin layer chromatography [Kieselgel™ 60F254, Art 5744 (manufactured by E. Merck); developing solvent: chloroform/methanol=7/1] to obtain 14 mg of the title compound.
