Procedure

Strontium carbonate (1.0 g, 6.77 mmol) and benzoic acid (1.65 g, 13.5 mmol) in water (30 ml) were stirred for 4 hours at 70° C. The mixture was filtered and the fitrate was evaporated to dryness and dried in vaccuo at ambient temperature. The title compound was isolated. Yield 1.8 g (81%).
