A mixture of methyl 3-hydroxy-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylate (5.60 g), 4-(4-chloromethyl-2-methoxyphenoxymethyl)-2-(2-furyl)-5-methyloxazole (9.45 g), potassium carbonate (3.55 g) and N,N-dimethylformamide (200 ml) was stirred at 90° C. for 15 hrs. The reaction mixture was poured into water and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate layer was washed with saturated brine, dried (MgSO4) and concentrated. The obtained colorless crystals were collected by filtration to give methyl 3-[4-[2-(2-furyl)-5-methyl-4-oxazolylmethoxy]-3-methoxybenzyloxy]-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylate (12.40 g, yield 94%). The crystals were recrystallized from ethyl acetate-hexane. melting point: 146–147° C.
