Procedure
To a stirred solution of the product of Step 1 (1.0 eq.) in CHCl3, triethylamine (3.0 eq.) was added followed by the addition of acetyl chloride (1.5 eq.). The reaction was stirred at room temperature until the starting material was consumed as determined by MS analysis. The reaction mixture was concentrated and the crude product was used directly in the subsequent step without further purification. A solution of the crude product from above (1.0 eq.) in NMP was treated with 4-fluorobenzylamine (2.0 eq.). The solution was stirred at reflux until the reactants were consumed as determined by MS analysis. The title compound was obtained by RP-HPLC purification (C18, eluting with water and acetonitrile containing 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid) as a 4:1 mixture of rotamers by NMR.
